Wyvern Barracks July 4th, 5th & 6th 2018

The sun had arrived and summer was here! I mention this, as we were singing outside, under stage lights, on the hottest days of the year, with soldiers in full uniform, playing instruments, whilst on parade! We were all dripping wet, 3 nights on the trot, in what was a totally unique experience!

'Behind the Red Brisk Wall' was the brainchild of the new Commanding Officer, Lt Col Jon Penhale, and was designed to show local residents living around the barracks and the wider local community, what was behind the ‘big red-brick wall' and help build and bridge the gap between the army and civilians.

We were supporting Show Of Hands on the first 2 night and then we 'depped' for them on the Saturday (they went off to do Abbotsbury!) and we took over their slot in the show. Steve Knightley wrote a brand new song for the regiment around their motto, 'Swift and Bold.' It was 3 nights of wonderful music making, with the Rifles really showing what they can do. The narration from David Fitzgerald tracked the 6 Rifles Regiment's battle history and the soldiers re-enacted scenes, whilst he narrated .

At the Launch

At the Launch: I was unexpectedly asked to sing LIVE on Radio Devon with Steve and Phil - what a shock that was! I think they thought I was Miranda! We got through it -and I 'ooood' most of the verses! Steve thought it was hilarious!

Our lovely sponsors, Jane and Simon, (with Richard) from Heart And Soul Funerals who came to support us! Simon is in the basses now, too!

All the full army bands were on display, marching in sequences and were loud and proud!

Resting in between slots.

Steve receiving an honorary position with the rifles regiment - cap and all

Phil Beer and Tobias Ben Jacobs (one of our new basses)

Krys (bass) and Anne (Sop) chilling before we go on!

We also LOVE getting fed at a venue!

We were honoured to receive a beautiful Rifles Regiment plaque by Lt Col Jon Penhale
