The Hatchling

WHAT A WEEKEND!

“It was such a pleasure to have The Lost Sound contribute to the Hatchling project. Their delivery of Ruth Chan's score was sensitive and touching - it brought a beautiful quality to the dragon's journey and made for an unforgettable evening.”
Mervyn Millar, Director, The Hatchling

"The Lost Sound's
performance of my lullaby was exquisite; evocative and beautifully sung" Ruth Chan, composer, The Hatchling

We are so proud to have been a part in this incredible, utterly inspiring event.
We sang right next to the dragon as she settled into sleep,
in the heart of Plymouth, on the Saturday night, surrounded by the lanterns made by the Nudge community
On Sunday, we joined a huge crowd of folk, all there to witness
the flight of The Hatchling on Plymouth Hoe.
We arrived to hear a pre recorded soundtrack featuring 2 of or singers booming out over the Hoe.
We then watched and listened as The Mayflower Acappella chorus sang her into flight!

Autumn starts!

After singing outside since April, we have now moved to our new indoor venue in the Town Hall. Windows are open and we are socially distanced and, with 4 walls to sing into we can hear ourselves very differently.
We have 4 new male singers who are on a months trial from our Audition workshop and we are planning another Audition workshop for January 2022, with a view of taking on more women

OUR SPONSORS

The enormously wonderful Simon and Jane from Heart and Soul Funerals

have generously continued their sponsorship of the choir, through this difficult time of no concerts.
Our 'Homegrown Harmony,' project was able to go ahead because of their funding. Their offer of outside rehearsal space saved our Xmas videos and have meant we can sing again in small groups. We are enormously grateful and lucky to have their support

They have supported us for 4 years now and their generosity and kindness
have enabled us to buy our own lighting rig, develop our new logo
and record our EP. They have enabled us to be better!

They have an excellent Blog on their website about all things associated

with Funeral care and it is really worth a read!
They are industry award winners and continue to lead by example,
bringing funeral care into the modern age and offer the very best of celebrant training.
